Words in Motion 2013 - Featured Poem of the Day
Weather
We talk about the weather
To find a common place
Or to fill an empty space
In conversation
But the weather isn’t there for that
We celebrate sunny days
Unless we need rain
We love warmth in winter
Unless we want ice or snow
Thus we praise or complain
Depending on subjective thoughts
But weather isn’t listening
And though what we do affects it
Felling trees or burning fuels
It doesn’t answer to us
Or for us
So we may as well find out how to enjoy each day
Whether it be thunder or sun
Because the weather is what it is
When all is said and done.
