MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery Grand Opening of Water: Exploring Possibilities

MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery would like to invite everyone to the Grand Opening of Water: Exploring Possibilities on Thursday, August 2, 2012. 
Water: Exploring Possibilities is a group exhibition presenting more than thirty artworks by emerging and mid-career artist. This collective exhibition features two dimensional artworks that explore the theme of water in many forms, locations and with various interpretations and conceptual connections. There will be paintings, photographs and mixed media.  Water: Exploring Possibilities will run at MacDonald Island Community Art Gallery until August 29, 2012

Volunteers needed for Heritage Day at Heritage Park

Heritage Day is a family oriented event that caters to all ages.  It is a celebration of music, art, dance, food, and cultural heritage. The event occurs on Monday, August 6 from 11:00-4:00pm at Heritage Park.  Admission is by donation and there will be live entertainment throughout the day.  Volunteers are needed for a variety of activities including children's games, food service, security, petting zoo and much more.

AFA - Artists and Education

The Alberta Foundation for the Arts (AFA) supports arts residency programs in Alberta schools through the Artists and Education project grant stream (found under the Organization Project Grant umbrella).

The Artists and Education grant stream enables schools to bring professional Alberta artists into their classrooms for projects ranging from one to thirty days in length. Arts residencies encourage students’ creativity and advance K–12 curricula in fine arts and non-fine arts subjects. Visual artists, actors, dancers, musicians, writers, and storytellers have been involved in AFA-funded residency programs throughout Alberta. Schools can partner with any professional Alberta artist who has school residency experience.

The Canadian Arts Coalition is planning our third annual Arts Day on Parliament Hill for Tuesday, October 23, 2012 – and we’d like you to mark it on your calendars NOW.

Once again in 2012, we welcome artists, board members of arts organizations and arts managers to make the trip to the nation’s capital to present the Coalition’s messages to MPs, senators and senior officials. We seek people who can speak convincingly about the value that the arts bring to Canadian communities, and the role that federal investment plays. And we want to demonstrate strong national support by having spokespeople from all regions of the country and a diversity of language and artistic practice.

Program Description
The Grants for Literary Arts Promotion program provides support to Canadian non-profit arts organizations that increase public awareness of and access to Canadian literature.

The Operating Grants component of the program provides annual and
multi-year funding to established literary organizations that play a major role in fulfilling the program objectives. Annual grants cover a 12-month period, and multi-year grants cover a 24-month period.

Program Objectives
The objectives of this program are to:
increase the promotion of Canadian literary artists (writers, translators, storytellers and literary performance artists)
encourage the development of literature through promotional, networking, professional development and research activities, and

support audience development activities for literature.

If you are applying to this program component for the first time, you must discuss your organization’s eligibility with the Program Officer before submitting an application. To be eligible to apply, your organization must:
- be a Canadian professional organization with a primary mandate in Canadian literary arts promotion
- be an incorporated and non-profit organization
- have a stable, administrative structure that is sufficient to ensure the success of the promotional activities, with a minimum of one paid staff member
- have been in operation for a minimum of five consecutive years
- have an annual program of literary activities in which most of the participating Canadian writers, literary translators or publishers are recognized as professionals, OR host a major annual event¾such as a literary festival or a salon du livre¾in which a majority of the writers or literary translators presented are recognized as professionals
- pay artists’ fees
- have a variety of revenue sources
- generate annual revenues of more than $75,000, including government support, as shown in your organization’s most recent financial statements
- have already received a minimum of three consecutive and recent Canada Council grants for literary arts promotion activities (the funding received must have been for your core activities and have been at least $20,000 in the previous year), and
- be able to submit the required financial statements or a review engagement report for the last fiscal year (as detailed on page 4 of the application form)

Note that meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee that you will receive a grant.

Grant Amount
There is no maximum amount that may be requested from the operating grants component of the program. However, the grant amount can be a maximum of
50 percent of your organization’s total revenues.

CADAC Financial Reporting
The Canada Council for the Arts is collecting financial and statistical information through a national online database called CADAC (Canadian Arts Data/Données sur les arts au Canada). This system enables arts organizations applying for operating funding from public funders who are members of CADAC to submit their financial and statistical information in the same format. Previously, applicants to these funders were required to provide the same information in multiple formats on multiple occasions.

The following are member partners: the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, the British Columbia Arts Council, the Canada Council for the Arts, the City of Vancouver, the New Brunswick Department of Wellness, Culture and Sport, the Manitoba Arts Council, the Ontario Arts Council, the Saskatchewan Arts Board and the Toronto Arts Council. Discussions are ongoing with other provincial, territorial and municipal arts funders to encourage them to join the CADAC partnership.

Heritage Canada offers Building Stories Inventory

 HCF announces direct web access to new Building Stories inventory   

The Heritage Canada Foundation (HCF) is pleased to announce that Building Stories, a new interactive online inventory of historic buildings, structures and sites across Canada, is now a click away from the homepage of its website;www.heritagecanada.org

The tools in Building Stories can help communities and individual citizens take a direct and active role in identifying the significant and valued places that make up a vital part of the country’s heritage assets. Sites can be added to the fully searchable database and mapping system, which is open to additional contributions of stories, memories, digital artifacts and photographs.

“HCF is pleased to support this exciting new heritage tool,” said Natalie Bull, executive director. “It joins another important website link on our homepage to the Canadian Register of Historic Places. Together they help engage the public, explain the importance of heritage places and help build community confidence.” 

The sites can also be accessed through a mobile application available for Android, iPhone and Blackberry phones.

Building Stories is a partnership between the University of Waterloo’s Heritage Resource Centre and Computer Systems Group and the Centre for Community Mapping.

Promote your Events with Travel Alberta

Travel Alberta offers a program called the Alberta Tourism Information Service (ATIS) that is designed to help promote your organization's events.

From music to theatre to festivals and more, ATIS provides a way to connect details about your event with consumers online at TravelAlberta.com – free of charge. 

Adding your event information to ATIS only takes a couple of minutes and allows you to put your information in front of up to 375,000 people per month through Travel Alberta’s online marketing channels. This level of exposure would typically cost as much as $15,000/month if you had to pay for the same quality of online advertising.

Connecting with ATIS is easy as 1-2-3…4:
  1. Go to Industry.TravelAlberta.com.
  2. Select the green sign-up button located in the top right of the screen.
  3. Complete the sign up process.
  4. To start adding events or deals, simply select "My Offers" or "My Consumer Events" from the left side bar.

Program Description
This program provides grants to Canadian non-profit organizations and collectives that have a mandate in the contemporary visual arts or in fine craft. Grants provide a financial contribution toward projects that advance knowledge and promote public enjoyment of the contemporary visual arts.

Eligibility of Applicants
To apply to this program, your organization must be one of the following types:
Incorporated, non-profit Canadian visual arts or fine craft organization, museum, public art gallery, exhibition centre, artist-run centre, university art department, art college, fine craft college, service organization or professional association, with a primary mandate in the visual arts.
Professional artists’ collective or curatorial collective (for the definition of an eligible collective, see the Definitions section of these guidelines). Note that collectives must submit their application in the name of their collective or project, which must be able to receive a grant payable to that name.

Grant Amount
Grants awarded through this program will be a maximum of 50 percent of the total cost of the proposed project. If you are successful, you may receive less than the full amount that you request.

Note that recent grants for project assistance have rarely exceeded $15,000 per grant.

Proud to be Canadian Event

On Saturday, July 21, at Father Patrick Mercredi Field, there will be a Proud to be Canadian Event from 1-4pm. Participating in this event is a great way to get our Canadian Spirit revved up right before the Olympics start!
Proud to be Canadian is a family friendly event geared to celebrating Canadian Pride around Olympic time. There will be whacky competitions, prizes and a who is the most Canadian Costume competition. So get dressed in your finest Canadian Clothes, join in the fun athletic activities and show everyone how proud we are to be Canadian and stand tall for all of our Canadian Olympic atheletes

Alberta Craft Awards; Call for Nominations

 Annual Deadline: August 1

The Alberta Craft Council presents the Alberta Craft Awards and the Linda Stanier & Family Memorial Award. Nominate someone who deserves to be recognized for their dedication to Alberta's fine craft culture. The Awards Ceremony takes place every October in Calgary. Nominees are featured in the fall edition of the Alberta Craft Magazine and the Recipients are featured in a Discovery Gallery exhibition.

Award of Honour - $500
For a volunteer, supporter, teacher, craftsperson (individual or group) who has made a significant contribution to Alberta's fine craft culture.

Award of Achievement - $500
For an emerging craftsperson/student, in recognition of his/her achievement to date and/or potential (ACC members only).

Award of Excellence - $500
For an established craftsperson who excels in his or her area of craft (ACC members only).

The Linda Stanier and Family Memorial Award for Excellence in Ceramics - $1200
This annual endowed award celebrates the life of Linda Stanier and honours excellence in ceramics. The nominee should work and reside in Alberta and be primarily a studio-based, full-time professional ceramic artist. A couple that works together on the same work may be considered as one nominee. Nominations may be made by individuals, groups or by the Alberta Craft Council

Canada Council for the Arts - Artists and Community Collaboration Program in Theatre

Program Description
The objective of the Artists and Community Collaboration Program (ACCP) is to support diverse artistic activities that bring together professional artists and the broader community in a creative and collaborative relationship. This program offers financial support to projects that connect professional artists with communities, in particular with youth. It is open to Canadian professional, non-profit theatre organizations and ad hoc groups of Canadian professional theatre artists. An “ad hoc group” refers to a group of professional artists formed for the specific purpose of creating a unique work.

Grants are intended as a contribution towards the specific costs of:
a period of development, research or creation workshops geared towards a possible future production
theatre production. (which may also include development).

Some projects may be entirely developmental in nature, with no production or public presentation of the work included as part of the project. Such proposals should demonstrate that the work being developed has a clearly articulated process.

Canadian professional non-profit theatre organizations and ad hoc groups of professional theatre artists are eligible.

The Canada Council for the Arts defines professional artist as someone who:
has specialized training in the field (not necessarily in academic institutions)
is recognized as such by peers (artists working in the same artistic tradition), and
has a history of public presentation or publication.

It is mandatory for the applicant to submit resumes that state the relevant professional experience of the principal artists involved in the company or ad hoc group.

Applicants have the responsibility to submit all necessary information which will permit their eligibility to be clearly established. The Canada Council for the Arts will base its decisions on the information provided in the application.

Core members of ad hoc groups must have been active as theatre professionals for a minimum of two years.

Applicants must be Canadian citizens or have permanent resident status, as defined by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

Incorporated, not for profit theatre organizations currently receiving operating assistance from the Theatre Section of the Canada Council for the Arts are eligible to apply to this program as long as they are proposing projects not funded through operating assistance.

Companies or groups of artists may not submit a new application to the Canada Council until outstanding final reports are received under separate cover and approved by an officer.

Restrictions and Other Important Information
Applicants who have been unsuccessful in a previous competition may not re-submit the same project to a subsequent competition without first speaking with a Theatre Section Officer to discuss changes to the project. The Theatre Section reserves the right to accept or refuse the second request.
A theatre company or group of artists may submit only one Artist and Community Collaboration Program application per deadline (includes companies presenting a season).
Applications from ad hoc groups must include a one page statement from each of the principal artists detailing their artistic participation in the project.
Projects must start after the application deadline date; the Canada Council will not provide retroactive funding.
Applicants should be aware that meeting the eligibility criteria allows them to apply to the program. It does not, however, guarantee that they will receive a grant. Grant recommendations are made by a peer assessment committee, based on the overall merit of the project in a national comparative context and on the funds available.
This Canada Council program is accessible to Aboriginal artists or arts organizations and artists or arts organizations from diverse cultural and regional communities of Canada. 

Grant Amount
Applicants to the ACCP may apply for up to a maximum of $25,000 per year. Because of the high number of applications that may be received and the limited resources available, grants awarded may be smaller than the amounts requested.

Eligible expenses include:
theatre artists' honoraria or fees
the material costs of the production
marketing and publicity costs
administrative fees
theatre and rehearsal space rental
honoraria for community participants
for research, development and/or creation workshop projects only, eligible expenses also include fees for creators (authors, composers, etc.) and facilitators while creating the work in question (script, score, etc.).

Retroactive funding is not available.

Cross Cultural Parenting Program

The Multi-Cultural Association in partnership with the HUB Family Resource Centre will be offering a Cross Cultural Parenting Program.
This program is designed to equip parents with children under the age of 18 with skills and Knowledge on parenting in Canada. A certificate of completion will be awarded.
The program is sponsored by the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
Cross Cultural Parenting will run  from 6:30-8:00pm every Friday and Saturday from August 17 to September 22, 2012 at the HUB Family Resource Centre on Franklin Avenue.

Program Description
The Grants to Theatre Artists program provides support to individual Canadian professional theatre artists of all cultures. There are four components to the program: Individual Creation, Artist-in-Residency, Playwriting Residency, and Professional Development.

These grants allow artists to devote a specific period of time for the individual creation of new work, for terms as artist-in-residence (for administrators, playwrights, designers, directors or other creative artists), for terms of playwriting residencies, and for projects of professional development. Residencies, both for playwriting and artist-in-residencies, are undertaken with theatre companies that receive support from the Theatre Section of the Canada Council for the Arts.

Support for playwrights is available through all four components. A playwright wanting to pursue the independent creation of a new work applies through the Individual Creation component of the program. A playwright wanting to spend time in residency with a company to observe and participate in general theatre practice applies through the Artist-in-Residency component. A playwright wanting to pursue a specific project of individual creation in a working partnership arrangement with a theatre company applies through the Playwriting Residency component. A playwright wanting to pursue a program of advanced training (such as graduate studies in playwriting at universities or theatre schools) applies to the Professional Development component.

In general, submissions for Individual Creation request subsistence for the time needed to create new work, plus research and travel costs (if applicable). Submissions for the Artist-in-Residency and the Playwriting Residency components usually involve subsistence costs for the term of the residency. In addition to subsistence costs for the term of the project, applications to the Professional Development component may include costs for travel, research and tuition related to the program of work.

This program is open to Aboriginal artists and artists of diverse cultural and regional communities of Canada.

To apply to the Canada Council for the Arts, you must be a Canadian citizen or have permanent resident status, as defined by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

Applicants must be professional theatre artists or arts professionals. The Canada Council defines a professional artist as someone who:
has specialized training in the artistic field (not necessarily in academic institutions)
is recognized as a professional by his or her peers (artists working in the same artistic tradition), and
is committed to devoting more time to his or her artistic activity, if possible financially, and
has a history of public presentation.

Playwrights must have had at least one work produced professionally on stage or published professionally. Other theatre artists must have practised with professional companies or independent professional productions for at least two years.

Scriptwriters who wish to write a stage play must have had at least one dramatic work produced professionally on radio, television or film.

Composers must have written music for at least one professional theatre production.

In order to be eligible as a host company for both the Artist-in-Residency and Playwriting Residency components, a theatre company must receive either Operating Grant support from the Theatre Section of the Canada Council for the Arts or must have received at least one Production Project Grant in the preceding three years.

For Professional Development applications, candidates applying for programs of work that involve graduate studies at a university or advanced training at a theatre school must have practised with professional companies or in independent professional productions for at least five years.

Grant Amount
Grant amounts range from $3,000 to $20,000, in increments of $1,000.

Alberta Foundation for the Arts - Individual Artists Project Grant Program

The Individual Artists Project Grant program supports the development of individual Alberta artists, Traditional Aboriginal artists, arts administrators, and artist ensembles by providing a grant for a specific project.

Oranj Fitness Presents Fort McMurray’s Largest Outdoor Yoga Class

Flowing Under the Sun to Live Beats by DJ Radio Dave

Fort McMurray, Alb July 6, 2012.  Oranj fitness is hosting its 1st annual Fort McMurray’s Largest Outdoor Yoga Class.   DJ Radio Dave will be spinning beats while Sheila Chutskoff, owner of oranj fitness, will be leading a 75 minute yoga class in support of Fort McMurray’s Family Crisis Society.     

Community minded health and fitness studio, oranj fitness, wants to bring the local yoga and fitness community together by hosting Fort McMurray’s Largest Outdoor Yoga Class.  DJ Radio Dave will be busting out with a mixture of music on stage to set the mood for the 75 minute class.  All members of the community are welcome to join this ALL levels class!

“We’ve hosted a similar event at our Kelowna BC location for 4 years now” says Sheila Chutskoff, owner of oranj fitness.” “I’m really excited to open an oranj fitness in Fort McMurray and bring together the yoga/health & fitness community.  We won’t be open until approx June 2013 in the Eagle Ridge Development in Timberlea, but I just couldn’t wait that long to start hosting events!  This will be an annual event and our goal this year is to have 200 people attend! I am so blessed to be in such a kind community like Fort McMurray and to meet new people of all ages and yoga levels.  This ALL levels class will really bring everyone together to flow under the sun!  Darrel Peters, co-owner of Club NV, and DJ Radio Dave came on board right away to help support this event.   I’m always inspired when I see so much community involvement!  It’s honestly going to be the most amazing yoga class Fort McMurray has ever seen!”

Fort McMurray’s Largest Outdoor Yoga Class will take place Saturday August 11th 2012 at the Ecole McTavish Football Field located at 352 Parsons Creek Drive, Timberlea.  Class runs from 9am – 10:30am and doors open at 8:00am.  To participate in this class we ask that you donate a minimum of $10 cash or bring $10 worth of non perishable items for the Fort McMurray Family Crisis Society.”

The Conservatory exists to provide qualified instruction and performing experience to students of all ages, from beginners to advanced students, as well as to encourage the development of the visual and performing arts in Fort McMurray and the surrounding region.

About the Artist in Residency Program:
We have expanded upon the 2011 installment of the AIR program to include a studio in Fort Chipewyan. This new residency is a month long residency for an established artist. Artists in both Fort McMurray and Fort Chipewyan, Alberta (the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo), will gain a dedicated studio space to work in during the 2012 summer.

The program will enable a blend of both emergent and mid-career artists to create and explore, as well as to exchange ideas and insights within a multi-disciplinary environment. The residency includes the studio space (with no associated fee), delivery of a 15 – 20 minute artist talk per artist, demonstration and instructional opportunities.

During the residency, the artists will be expected to create an original body of work in collaboration with other participants and to exhibit in a group show at the end of the residency. Each artist in residence will be asked to become an ambassador for the Regional art community during their stay. As ambassadors, the artists will be required to host open studio hours once a week at a time when the public can access their workspaces'.

Canadian Conference of the Arts continues in spite of loss of funds

The Globe and Mail reports that The Canadian Conference of the Arts (CCA) has vowed to continue its operations in spite of its loss of Federal funding.

"Meeting this week in Ottawa, the membership and the board of the CCA, founded in 1945, “all endorsed the concept that we should not give up,” said CCA national director Alain Pineau in an interview. “There are enough positive signs coming our way to make it worth continuing,” including an application to an as-yet unnamed foundation for “a good injection of money” that, should it be approved this fall, “would greatly help our transition to a new business model.… We’re taking this in instalments, living sort of on a quarterly basis at first, hoping to go on a half-year basis next year.”

The Cana­dian Con­fer­ence of the Arts is a not-for-profit, non-partisan member-based orga­ni­za­tion that rep­re­sents the inter­ests of over 400,000 artists, cul­tural pro­fes­sion­als from all dis­ci­plines of the nation’s vast arts, cul­ture and her­itage com­mu­nity. As the national con­vener, the CCA pro­vides sup­portfor col­lab­o­ra­tive lead­er­ship for the Cana­dian cul­tural sector.

for Edmonton based creators 35 years and under

Submission deadline: 5 p.m. Monday, July 23rd, 2012
Catalyst Theatre invites submissions for a new work creation project in theatre, developed and produced over a two-season cycle, with the first year’s activity in the 2012 / 2013 season, and second year’s activity in the 2013 / 2014 season.

What Catalyst is looking for:
Consistent with our mandate we are looking for exciting performance projects in which all production components are newly created. While we are interested in the work of creative ensembles, projects that are developed under the vision and leadership of one artist are of greatest interest. Year one is intended as a research and development phase. In year two the resident artist will produce and present a new work in our venue.

We wish to invest in the development of a distinctive and exciting creative voice in Edmonton’s theatre community by providing foundational support for a highly motivated artist or creative ensemble, fiercely committed to deepening and refining their practice and aesthetic and prepared to invest in making a significant breakthrough in their craft.

What Catalyst will provide
Year One
Purpose: Research and experimentation

• Four weeks of venue time for the purpose of research and experimentation
• Technical director services for twelve 8-hour days
• Secondary crew services for 32 hours
• $750 dollars for equipment rental or additional crew costs required during the project

Year Two
Purpose: Development, rehearsal and production

• Eight weeks of venue time
• Crew budget of $6,000
• FOH services for public activity

The selected artist(s) should expect:
• To engage with Catalyst Theatre’s core creative and management team in a supportive, consultative relationship
• To bring their own production resources to the residency as required, in addition to what Catalyst provides
• To make a two year commitment to deepening and refining their artistic practice and aesthetic (Year Two dates to be negotiated)
• To provide a showing or demonstration of the research at the end of the first year phase. This may be open to the public, or for an invited audience only.

Who is eligible to apply?

• Individual artists and existing ensembles.
• Principle artists must be Edmonton based and no older than 35 years of age.

Submission deadline:
5 p.m. Monday, July 23rd, 2012

Available dates in 2012-2013:

• November 18 to December 2, 2012
• January 1 to 13, 2013
• February 4 to March 2, 2013
• April 29 to May 18, 2013

Your proposal should indicate which of these weeks you would like to request. You may work in four one-week stages, one four-week stage, or any other combination as long as you are requesting full weeks. No pro-rated weeks.

Submission requirements:
• Name, email, telephone number and CV of creative director/principle applicant
• An overview of the project and your current challenges: we are interested in a statement of what you wish to explore and why, and what disciplines, technologies or influences you imagine drawing on. If you have a specific story or subject that will serve as a launching pad for your work include a synopsis or description
• CV’s or bios for all of the participants in the project and a brief description of the role you envision for each of them in the process
• A requested schedule totaling four weeks out of the available blocks of time provided above
• An activity plan for each of the four weeks in Year One

RCMP Trading Cards and Coloring Contest

The 2012 Edition of the Wood Buffalo RCMP Trading Cards are here!

The collection has 23 cards that RCMP members will be handing out to youth in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo throughout the summer months and into the fall. Sponsored by Suncor Energy, the project was lead by Cst. Christina Wilkins from the Community Policing Unit with the goal of promoting positive police-youth interaction. 

Children are encouraged to collect as many cards as they can. Youngsters who manage to collect at least 15 different cop cards will be entered into a draw for a prize pack. The trading card competition kicked-off at the June Bug festival and continues until the end of September. Youth who would like to be entered in the draw can attend the Timberlea Detachment with their cards and fill-out a ballot. Ballots will be accepted until September 28, 2012.

The trading cards are a complementary addition to the RCMP Coloring Contest that has been held in previous years. This years’ coloring contest is on-going and entries can be picked-up and dropped-off to the Timberlea Detachment until August 31, 2012.

The winner of the coloring contest will also receive a prize pack and be named Police Chief for the Day! Questions about either of these youth initiatives can be directed to the Community Policing Coordinator

A Boost to Heritage Projects: Alberta Historical Resources Foundation Awards Grants

The Alberta Historical Resources Foundation has just announced funding of over $1.4 million to 72 heritage projects through two of its grant programs.

The Heritage Preservation Partnership Program provides financial assistance to individuals and organizations for initiatives that preserve and interpret Alberta’s heritage through conservation, heritage awareness, publications and research grants as well as scholarships.

The Municipal Heritage Partnership Program provides opportunities for municipalities to access funding assistance, expertise and networks to help them establish or maintain existing municipal heritage conservation programs.

19th Annual Summer Media Arts Camp

This summer, Calgary teenagers ages 14 – 17 will have another opportunity to write, direct, shoot and edit a film in The 15th Annual Summer Media Arts Camp. The Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers (CSIF) matches local teens with professional filmmakers for this camp, which takes place July 21 – Aug. 1, 2008. This hands-on experience is the only camp of its kind in Calgary offering youths great experience in the art of film production.

In the first week of the camp, participants will be introduced to film concepts and theories, which includes a workshop on scriptwriting and pre-production planning. They will learn how to use the film equipment while working together on a film project. By the end of the first week, teenagers are starring in and shooting their film. The second week of camp begins with the editing of the projects. The final projects are premiered at a gala screening, to which both participants and the public are invited to attend. Many past participants have gone on to careers in film and video.

The Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers is a non-profit organization dedicated to the production and exhibition of media arts in the Calgary community. The Summer Media Arts Camp allows teens to experiment with the media arts at a reasonable cost.
