International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination

Wednesday, March 21

On Wednesday, March 21 at 3 p.m. the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo will proclaim the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination in Wood Buffalo.

When: Wednesday, March 21 at 3p.m.

Where: Jubilee Centre Foyer (or front steps, if weather permitting)

This date was chosen by the United Nations to draw attention to the continuing fight against all forms of racial discrimination. The date also marks the 46th anniversary of the Sharpeville massacre in South Africa, where 69 demonstrators were shot and killed during a non-violent protest against the Apartheid.

Support the organizing committee, fellow co-workers and the global community by joining the reading of the proclamation. Cake and refreshments will be served immediately following.
