Funds raised support the Aurora Youth Choir and its programs.

Fort McMurray’s Aurora Children’s & Youth Choir is Fort McMurray’s only community children’s singing group. It was founded in 2006 by Joanna Torguson and has grown from a handful of kids to 3 age-based ensembles. The choir takes children between the ages of 5-19 and runs from September to May. Practices are held at Westview School.

The Aurora Choir is funded primarily by program fees and fundraising. The choir takes everyone who wants to join regardless of whether their family can afford the fees. It’s run by volunteers and parents. Funds from this event will help fund program fee assistance, music score purchases, uniforms, venue rentals, administrative costs such as insurance and legal expenses, and much more.

For more information, contact Joanna Torguson at musicdirector@aurorachoir.ca or (780) 881-7876.
