Events Wood Buffalo presents Lavina: A Modern Fairytale of Gigantic Proportions

Fantasy/Adventure
All Ages

Lavina is 8 years old. Lavina is 8 feet tall. Lavina has a giant imagination, a giant sense of humour and a giant heart. Join her hilarious adventure and meet

everyone from Muffles the cat to Prochenko the microsopic warrior. Battle the crab dragon, save the land of Bukya, and find a place where everyone belongs.

Created and performed by Travis (from last year's Best of Festival winner Houdini's Last Escape at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival) with direction and dramature from Fringe veteran Ryan Gladstone (Every Story Ever Told, Freud vs. his Ego), this family-friendly fantasy adventure promises laughs, attempted dancing and an important reminder about self-worth and belonging that's inspiring for humans of all ages.

Recommended for humans who like to laugh aged 5 to 105.

The Red Power Squad is a performing group from Edmonton, Alberta. Formed in early 1998 by founder Conway Kootenay, the RPS was designed to give inner city youth a way out of all the negativity that they faced on a daily basis.

Almost 10 years later the RPS has exploded into a worldwide success. With top notch Traditional Native Dance combined with Emcee, b-boy/b-girl skills that are second to none, the RPS will leave you with a high-octane performance that is hard to forget. RPS performed numerous times at the Aboriginal Music Awards and the Opening Ceremonies of the North American Indigenous Games. They have also performed hundreds of times on a global scale from South Korea to San Diego.
