I received the below information as part of the Edmonton Arts Council monthly electronic publication, Public Art Monthly. The article is titled 'Urban Initiative: Todd Babiak's The Wall' and it included the great video that I've also included below. To subscribe the the publication click here.
Last month, Edmonton Journal columnist Todd Babiak introduced a new project called Interventions, calling for people to submit ideas for 'beauty interventions' for Edmonton's urban spaces.
"We're going to seek the wisdom of Edmonton architects, planners, designers, troublemakers and artists. But more importantly, we're seeking the wisdom of amateur urbanists like you. I'll take your ideas for "interventions" and publish them, broadcast them, spread them about -- help make them happen." writes Babiak. (Edmonton Journal, April 20, 2011)
Since that first article, he has received hundreds of e-mails from readers with ideas to beautify the city, some of which he has featured as letters of the day on his blog. And the ideas keep coming. Got something to add? Send it to Todd at firstname.lastname@example.org
