Keyano College Lecture Series 2012/2013 - Conformal Gravity: Has Einstein's Dream Been Realized?

September 21, 2012 at 8 pm in the Recital Theatre (Keyano Theatre & Arts Centre)

Conformal Gravity: Has Einstein’s Dream Been Realized?
Lecture by Jean-Pierre De Villiers

You may have heard of superstrings, a model that promises to unify all the fundamental forces of nature, but have you heard of conformal gravity? This new approach to gravity holds out great promise as a framework for reconciling the quantum and classical world view of physics. This talk summarizes recent developments in the field and explores whether or not the quest begun by Einstein has been realized.

Weather permitting, there will be an astronomical viewing following the event. We serve refreshments after the presentation, which offers guests a chance to meet and chat with our professors.

Contact Alanna.Bottrell@keyano.ca for more information about this lecture and future lecture topics.
