Our family and friends attended this 3rd Annual South Asian Fest at MacDonald Island Park. The food was excellent and so were the performances, particularly Tariq Hameed from Toronto, Sangeeta from Calgary and the local classical female dancer(cannot recall her name). Shobha from Toronto was OK, not great. May be we expected more from this mature professional singer. Sangeeta from Calgary really stood out from the rest as she was the only performer singing English songs, a Bollywood Hindi song as well as performing a Bollywood medley dance. This young artist did an excellent job in all three departments. She sang like a pro and danced like a pro. One could see that she is an exceptionally talented artist. Wish we had seen more performances from her. On the whole, the event was great. We all enjoyed this event very much and hope to be there next year to support this excellent South Asian cultural event.
