Great Places in Canada - 2012 Finalists

I came across a very interesting website this morning, which I thought I would share with you. The "Great Places in Canada" is an annual contest that recognize the special places that Canadians love most. 2012 is the second year for this competition and the nominations have revealed spectacular Canadian locations that are adored by many.

Canadians nominate their favourite spaces in our nation, be it a favourite neighbourhood or street or public domain. The most popular places are featured on their website, and are among the short-listed candidates. A judging panel of renowned planning experts then make the final decision, and the winners are announced at the end of April 2012.

This competition is sponsored by the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) as a way to recognize the work of professional planners, and to join with all Canadians in a celebration of the great places we are fortunate to share in this country.

I know that I have many special spaces throughout Canada that I love to visit...and many of these spots are located close to home in Wood Buffalo. This is a really fun website and competition to recognize your special Canadian spaces and to learn about all of the other loved locations in our nation.
