Events Wood Buffalo awarded CFEP
grant for the Post
Fort McMurray, AB, April 5, 2012 – The Post art gallery was recently
awarded a Community Facility Enhancement Program (CFEP) grant through the
Government of Alberta and the Alberta Lottery Fund.
“We are extremely
excited and grateful to have received a grant from the CFEP. This grant allows
the Post to renovate the gallery space at Keyano and in turn enhance the quality
of life and citizen wellbeing in our community,” said Connor Buchanan, Curator.
The purpose of the
grant is to help community organizations build and improve public-use facilities
and with it the Post plans to address two major issues, accessibility and
climate control. In addition to a
general facelift for the gallery, the grant will provide for a lift at one
entrance. By adding the lift, the Post hopes to ensure equal access to the
gallery for all. The other major undertaking is the addition of air temperature
controls and a humidity monitoring system allowing the Post to host works and travelling exhibitions from galleries such as the National Gallery of Canada and
the Art Gallery of Alberta. Renovations to the Post are planned to start early
this summer.
The Post and Events
Wood Buffalo thank Florence Webber, from Frames & More Art Gallery, and Ana

facility.

on Friday, April 13th at 7:00pm and exhibiting until May
