Enbridge Famous 5 Speaker Series Presents Cara Luft September 18th 2013

The Enbridge Famous 5 Speaker Series profiles extraordinarily successful women.

The speakers talk candidly about their careers, and the passion, vision and determination that drives them. They discuss our place in our society and the ethical responsibilities and consequences of our actions.

Throughout each speech you will learn more about the art and strategies of successful leadership. You will gain insights that will help you deal with your own leadership dilemmas, whether you are part of a multinational corporation, small business, non-profit or government agency.

The Famous 5 Foundation is proud to partner with Enbridge Inc to present the 14th Annual Enbridge Famous 5 Speaker Series featuring five dynamic and engaging women.

The first speaker of the 2013/2014 series is Cara Luft, singer, song-writing and founding member of the Canadian folk trio, The Wailin' Jennys. 

Tickets are available at the MacDonald Island Box Office. Tickets are $65 per session and include a buffet dinner and door prizes. Doors open at 6 pm. 

Northern Insights Announcement - February 28, 2013

Following up on the launch of Northern Insights and the success of the first speaker, Malcolm Gladwell, library director Carolyn Goolsby will announce the date for Bill Cosby ticket sales, and announce the third speaker in the series. Northern Insights is an exciting initiative which will allow the community to enjoy world class quality and affordable entertainment in our own region.

Accompanied by her mother/manager, Danielle performs across the globe. As seasoned music competitor, and strong community contributor, Danielle has been recognized with numerous awards.

Greetings!

Do you want to meet other women in your community? Learn career tips from a successful, woman leader? Hear inspirational stories about Canadian women excelling in their fields and contributing to their communities? 

These are all reasons people have enjoyed our past speaker events and is what we strive to continue bringing to the Fort McMurray community. You can ENTER TO WIN  2 tickets to our first speaker event or a new accessory for your wardrobe from Drop Dead Darlings by entering before September 18 at midnight.

Our first speaker is Karmen Masson, Founder of Suit Yourself. 

Karmen Masson left her law career behind and turned her passion for helping others into a not- for -profit business.  Originally housed in her parent’s 90 year old basement apartment, Suit Yourself provides clothing and accessories for free to disadvantaged women entering the workforce.  From its humble beginnings, Suit Yourself  now has its office in Little Italy in Edmonton  and has outfitted over 1400 women. 

Karmen will share her insights of how to use your passion to transform lives, and create synergy within the community while leading and inspiring success.
During Karmen’s speaker event, we will be asking the audience to bring gently used accessories and lingerie to donate to Suit Yourself.
