Student Intern Opportunity with Fringe Theatre Adventures


The Student Intern – Events and Programs supports Fringe Theatre Adventures with event and program planning and implementation for the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival. This position provides direct support to the Development Coordinator. 

Responsibilities Events: 
Assist the Development Coordinator with the planning and implementation of a variety of Festival events and activities including but not limited to the VIP Sponsor Event, Opening/Closing Night Festivities, Fire Night Fundraiser 
Work with the Development Coordinator to support the Volunteer department’s Fringe Buck Raffle 
Work on event organization, set up and dismantle logistics Liaise between FTA departments as required 
Attend and contribute to cross-functional Festival planning meetings 

Programs: 
Assist the Development Coordinator with the Official Fringe Establishment Program (OFEP), Festival Membership Campaign (FMC)/Fan Club and sponsorship activities which activate out of the Community Gazebo during Festival 
Student Intern activities in support of OFEP may include business visits, delivery of packages and materials, collecting ad submissions, distribution of point of purchase materials, coordinating program information on the website, assisting the Development Coordinator as a staff liaison with volunteer team in the Gazebo during the Festival, etc.
 FMC/Fan Club support may include assembling membership packages, assisting with tracking and implementation of program, liaising with the volunteer team in the Gazebo during the Festival, etc.

Other: 
Support the Development department team in the distribution and coordination of Sponsor Passes and information leading up to the Festival, as well as, with logistical support as needed for Sponsor Events during the Festival.
Act as a secondary staff resource to support the Development Coordinator with interactions with the Community Engagement Team and Friendraisers Team, leading up to, and during, the Festival. 

Qualifications/Skills and Proficiencies:
Successful candidate will be a student pursuing a college, technical or university diploma/degree in a related field such as Business Administration, Arts and Culture, Communications, Development, Special Event Planning, etc.
Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment 
Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
High degree of maturity and sense of responsibility as this position is a critical support to the success of the Festival 
Outgoing and personable; ability to work with people from all walks of life 
Strong verbal and written communication skills
