Banff Centre 2015 Opera Program Now Accepting Applications

Calling singers and répétiteurs! Apply now for a 5-week residency devoted to practical skill extension and development. Participate in A Little Too Cozy, a modern interpretation of Mozart’s Così fan tutte and a workshop of James Rolfe and Anna Chatterton’s new opera, Donna, an English-language re-imagining of Mozart’s Don Giovanni commissioned by the Canadian Opera Company.
Auditions will take place in Toronto, Montréal and Vancouver during November 17 - 21 Apply by: October 29

Banff Centre Call for Aboriginal Singers

Aboriginal Arts will present the
2012 Diverse As This Land vocal intensive residency at The Banff Centre in the
heart of Blackfoot and Stoney territories from July 7, 2012 to July 14,
2012.
At the heart of this project is an
exciting eight-day voice intensive residency for 12 Aboriginal singers led by
outstanding vocal instructors including Micah Barnes (Ontario), vocal associate
Donita Large (Alberta), and the internationally renowned Pacific Curls (New
Zealand). Participants will have the opportunity to perform live as a group at
the Diverse As This Land concert series during the Banff Summer Arts
Festival.
Participants will explore singing as
physical experience, breath control, capacity and resonance, understanding the
vocal apparatus and solo and group composition. Participants will also receive
hands-on development that enhances performance skills and career strategies in
the music business.
We invite all interested singers to
submit their application to this unique Diverse As This Land program before
April 11, 2012.
*Scholarship and
financial aid to cover 100 per cent of the program fee (based on shared
accommodation) is available.
