The discovery of Comet 2012 S1 (ISON) created a sensation with predictions that this comet could be visible during daylight. Whether this comet lives up to its potential is a matter of speculation that will be settled in the Fall of 2013 when ISON approaches the sun. In this lecture, Dr. Jean-Pierre De Villiers will discuss the process of discovering comets,
predicting their trajectories, and explaining the transformations that comets undergo on their journey into the inner part of the Solar System.
